Happy Interschools 2022!

On Monday, August 1st, the 2022 Interschools’ rivalry between the Union Schools and Volkskool made its glorious return and after a full five days of hard-fought cultural and sports encounters, we eagerly anticipate the 1st XV and 1st hockey team’s matches on Saturday, August 6th.

Each Interschools, Union identifies a 𝗙𝗨𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗔𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗘 that we’d like to bring to the attention of visiting reunion groups and Old Unionites who are keen to contribute to the school’s future success in the spirit of Interschools.

This year we’d like to tell you about the schools’ Swimming Pool Project (see attached flyer).

The Union Schools recently commenced with a new project, which will see the existing school pool lengthened.

It has long been one of the school’s ambitions to lengthen the pool from its current length of 25 yards (22,84 metres) to that of a standard length competition pool – 25 metres. Construction to have this accomplished, commenced in early June.

𝘖𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘴 (𝘸𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘩 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘢 25-𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘱𝘰𝘰𝘭) 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘴𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘧𝘰𝘳, 𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘴𝘸𝘪𝘮𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴.

We then also hope to erect a pool enclosure.

This Interschools, the Union Schools would like to 𝗘𝗡𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗛𝗘𝗟𝗣 by means of any donations that you or someone you know may be able to put forward towards this project.

Donations received into the bank account of the UHS Development Trust by 28 February 2022 will receive Section 18A tax certificates.
