Guided by the recommendations regarding the management of Covid-19 within the community, it is with regret that we have to announce that our 2021 Founders’ Day celebrations have been cancelled.
Traditionally celebrated at the end of January each year, this year’s Founders’ Day would have seen Union High School celebrating its 102nd year.
The decision to cancel was a difficult one, but with the start of the 2021 academic year being postponed, sports activities being prohibited and the general uncertainty regarding the pandemic and its recent resurgence, cancelling this annual festivity is the only responsible action we feel we can take.
While we are disappointed, we continue to make paramount the health and safety of our community.
We look forward to celebrating this event again in 2022.

Union’s annual Founders’ Day celebrations are arguably one of the most important events in the school’s calendar: a day when we remember the founders of the school and value their legacy. We are indebted to the men and women who had the vision that led to the creation of the school back in 1919, and those who have contributed to the leadership and vision of the school since.
