UHS HONOURS BOARD

The 𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗛𝗜𝗚𝗛 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗛𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦 𝗕𝗢𝗔𝗥𝗗 – which graces the foyer of the school hall – stands as a testament to the legacy and achievements of generations past at Union High School, Graaff-Reinet.

Gifted to the school by ‘The Past Pupils’ Association’ (𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘢𝘴 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘖𝘭𝘥 𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯) in the 1940s to commemorate the school’s Silver Jubilee, this board embodies the enduring bond between alumni and alma mater.

Since its inception, Union has been a crucible of excellence, nurturing leaders, scholars and achievers. The Honours Board proudly displays the names of head prefects, bursary winners, Dux learners and matriculants with A aggregates, each name a beacon of inspiration for the school’s current and future learners.

As learners pass beneath it each week, they are reminded of the legacy they inherit and the standard of excellence they are called to uphold.
