Congratulations to Old Unionite, and stellar cricket player, Clayton Bosch, who was recently drafted for the GBets Warriors side for the Mzansi Super League 2022.
Clayton has been impressing as a player for Border Cricket since 2015 when he was included in Border’s squad for the 2015 Africa T20 Cup.
In October 2021 – during the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Provincial T20 Knock Out competition – Clayton set the following records while representing the Eastern Cape Iinyathi cricket team:
• Fastest 50 off 20 balls for a player batting at number 7 in Domestic T20 History.
• Fastest 50 of the competition to that point (it has since been broken).
• Highest 6th wicket partnership (125) in Domestic T20 History (previous record was 96 by Albie Morkel and Roelof van der Merwe for the Titans).
• The first players (with Jerry Nqolo) batting at number 6 and 7 to both score half centuries at quicker than 22 balls.
